Yesterday I spent the day with my wood splitter and watching football (Steelers Won) I got all my wood split finally all I need to do now is get it all stacked then I will be ready for the cold. Today I took Mom to the doctors for her regular check up all is good and we stopped at Bob Evans for lunch and I went ahead and got my lunch for tomorrow. After I got home I cleaned out my chimney and wood burner and since it was chilly today I fired it up to make sure all is good with it, and it is fine did not take long to warm up in here it is now died out.

 

Today was cold and wet all day we need the rain so I guess it is all good just I don't like driving in the rain too much but we make it fine. My Aunt Linda is coming to visit from Arizona on Thursday that will be nice she is staying for a week have not seen her for about a year that will be nice we are going out to eat on Sunday Myself, Mom, Aunt Linda , and my cousin Becky that will be fun have not seen Becky for a while I need to keep better in touch..

My first day back to work (Tuesday) was quite the chore I was so dead tired by the end of the day vacation hangover I guess, Today was a lot better we were real busy and the day went by fast so it is back to normal 2 more days till weekend. Everyday when I pull in my driveway I see that cord of wood waiting for me but since it has been in the 80s I thought I would wait till the weekend they say 69 Saturday and Sunday so i will get on it Saturday evening and maybe finish it Sunday..

Kelly stopped over the other day so I could give them their souvenirs from Cancun and I was talking to Ales(my grandson) and he was telling me he is not playing soccer that is good because he was having a lot of problems in school so he actually told me he needs to behave in school and get good grades because he love playing soccer that was great news for me, and Sam is still working at Friedmans and really likes he job and making money so as of now all is good..

After the snorkeling trip in XCAROT after changing I forgot my belt in the dressing room I was back at the motel so there was no going back to today I took a break from stacking wood and decided to go to Kmart to get another one, So I ask myself why did I just need a belt and end up spending $151.00 LOL I guess because I also just had a get a new Vacuum and a new blender, and of course a pair of shoes and a few other little things, I got to the checkout and realized I forgot my belt Duh, so got the belt and checked out sure was an expensive belt that always happens to me……………. Back to stacking wood……..

It is amazing how fast vacation time flys and work seems to drag by but my week in Mexico has ended I got in last night around 8:30 I was so tired of flying I was on 6 different flights 2 to get to Monterey, 1 to Cancun, 1 back from Cancun to Monterey and 2 from Monterey to home I have had my fill of flying for a while but sure was fun.

There is so much to do in Cancun just not near enough time we went to Co Co Bongo night club that was a blast wall to wall people but still what a show.

The next day we swam in the ocean it was warm and beautiful then went on a dance cruise to an island for dinner they had 4 different buffet set up so much great food and a really good show.

                                                                                                

The last day we went to XCARET that was great also we swam in the underground river and  did some snorkeling that took me a while to get used to but it was fun then so much more to see we did not get anywhere near through it but did so a really good show then got back to motel around midnight.

LOL I went swimming in the ocean again just wanted to get my fill. that was it for my first trip to Cancun I will go back one day.

I am glad I took a personal day today I had a lot to get done but finally I think I am done luggage is packed, truck is filled up with gas, found my spare glasses that was an issue, but i prevailed I cleaned out my truck and checked under the hood so all is well it is an hour drive to the airport ( leaving my house at 3:00 AM) so now am going to just relax a bit and hopefully I will get a little sleep tonight. I arrive in Monterey Mexico around Noon Sunday then will spent the day Monday in Saltillo there is a leather shop I want to visit and will be visiting the rest of my friends through out the day.Then Tuesday Morning it is off to the airport in Monterey to fly to Cancun I will be there till Thursday then fly back to Monterey in the evening, Friday a day of recovery and a BBQ to say good bye to everybody, then Saturday I will fly home should be back in Pittsburgh around 8:00 PM. I will still have Sunday and Monday off work and since i had my last cord of wood delivered this morning I will be busy those 2 days splitting and stacking, then back to work, LOL already seems like too short of a vacation.

Tomorrow is my last day of work before vacation I am scheduled to work Saturdays but i chose to take a personal day as I am leaving early Sunday morning for Mexico one day in Monterey and then three days in Cancun then back home Saturday evening that still leaves me 2 rest days till I go back to work. Am really looking forward to getting away but just hope the Hurricane's stay away I guess I will find out. I will be missing the season opener for the Steelers but that is OK this is a once in a lifetime trip and can't wait to see the beach..

The weather has really cooled down especially at night not cold enough to use the fire but have broke out the warm blankets

I just read the news about Chaya and I an heartbroken although I never met the dear sweet woman she was my first friend here on DD and always left me a nice comment I so much enjoyed her sharing her life and the ups and downs her memories. She always seem to have a good attitude even with her health problems even her last post where she fell and broke her wrist she still made a bit of humor about it, for me DD will be a little bit lonelier I will miss her I will miss all her great posts and will miss all her nice sweet comments I will miss you Chaya..

I know I will regret this in the middle of winter when it is below 0 F but it is a relief to be cooler weather this morning began 47 degrees F nice sleeping weather so this is my second day off another 2 day weekend I am working on my second cord of wood I am almost done splitting it and still need to get it stacked I would like to get that much done today, then I can get my third cord delivered before i go on vacation then when I get home I can finish up that cord, clean out my wood burner and chimney then I will be sitting good for winter, of course It would not break my heart to have a mild winter but who knows, but i will be ready whatever comes.

Aside from the wood I did get some chores done like my laundry, dishes , and can actually see my kitchen table top. I do not have and picnic plans for the day I just need to take Mom to Giant Eagle to get some shopping done then just enjoy a paid day off from work. My side pain is totally gone it feels good to feel good.
