I wish i knew who makes all these dirty dishes now I know I just did them all a couple days ago and here my sink is full again must me Bertha if I catch her I will me making her do dishes LOL so one of my jobs tonight is to get the dishes done again it began to rain right around 2:00 and I had to conduct our monthly safety meeting at 2:30 so by the time I got off work it was still raining and now just crappy looking and getting chilly.. But I did get my gutters cleaned out.

I am stepped down to the third step of my patch program and as the other step was hard this one was also a struggle but I managed without smoking so I can’t imagine what it will be like when I go off the patch for good in 2 weeks I am fairly certain I can do it it has been 45 days now that is close to 2 months I remember writing here that I made to day 4 and thought that was an accomplishment, so 45 days is good.

Yesterday Mom brought me over meatloaf, and macaroni salad for my lunch for the next couple days it is really good and this sounds a little creepy but food tastes soooo much better  without my dentures in but I won’t let anybody see me without them but I am so much more comfortable without them, I am going on the 11th for my permanent dentures I hope they fit better, I sure do hate the ones I am stuck with right now..

Today began beautiful out again nice and warm when Mom came home from senior center I called her as she wanted to buy a weeping Cherry tree so off we went she got her tree and also bought me a rhododendron bush I got her tree planted plus 3 other bushes planted plus my rhododendron just before it began to rain that is when I noticed my gutters were plugged up and the rain was running over the outside of the gutter so I now see it has stopped raining so maybe I might go out now while it is still light and see if i can clean them out..

I am thinking maybe the quitting smoking might be getting a bit easier I found myself not thinking about it as much and I can dismiss the triggers easier, I picked up my last 2 weeks worth of patches this is the 7mg box and thankfully I am off work again tomorrow and it will give me time to adjust to the smaller dose of nicotine.

Last night i went to start my bike and of course dead battery totally my fault for not taking it out and keeping it inside and charged so i put the battery charger on it but to no avail it was junk, so no ride last night.. this morning I went to my dentist appointment I don’t like that but had no choice, I want my permanent dentures so I can get back to eating normal again, anyhow I saw am old co worker well not old he is 51 and here about a week ago he had a heart attack Damn he is 51 and I am 55 did a little math and am thinking I should go get a physical and get the old ticker checked out, maybe tomorrow.. I stopped at battery warehouse and bought a battery for my Hog, $92.00 Yikes, better take care of this one, brought it home and after a quick installation was back in the breeze after a long cold winter, Life is good, did not realize how much I missed riding, It felt great

It has been a long 2 weeks but at last it is over and I get three whole days off I have been looking so forward to this. today was a good day at work not a lot going on which is good and bad good as a somewhat easy day and bad as that means things are getting slower, but I am not going to get myself worked up over it just keep plugging away and hope for the bast..

Now the Smoking, today is day 41 yesterday i fogot my patch and was just so cranky and bitchy have way through the day it makes me wonder how it will be after I go off the patch, I have 2 more days then step down to the last 2 weeks on the 7mg patches that should be fun..

It was 84 outside today just beautiful have been waiting all winter for this great weather my grass is growing nicely and I am not going to go take the Harley out for a little ride. I have a dentist appointment tomorrow for my final fitting before they make my permanent dentures how they fit better than the ones I have now, will find out in 8 days can’t wait..

I got home from my safety training yesterday at around 4:30 it was good training it was sponsored by DuPont and they seem to know what they are talking about pertaining to safety, anyhow I did learn a lot and am glad I had the chance to go, and we ate really good Tuesday night a great steak it was really good..

yesterday was Earth day but today we did our Earth day thing at work because Myself and the 2 other co workers who went with me are on the safety team and we organize things like the Earth day activity’s, anyhow we worked all day outside to clean and put down new mats between the rails it was all good and we were treated with Pizza for lunch it was great to see everybody pitching in.

I am still resisting the urge to Smoke I had some troubles when they decided to take breaks at the training sessions I usually went outside to smoke so I actually did not know what to do during break so I just hung outside but did not smoke I have so many days into it I don’t want to have to start over I think I am seeing improvements in my breathing and health in general so that also motivates me, Oh I forgot to change my Patch Wednesday Morning and I really felt the difference when I came home I hope it gets better by the time I am done with the patches, I changed my dentist appointment to Next Monday at Noon for my wax impressions they 8 days till I get my permanent dentures i can’t wait hard to believe it has been 6 months since I had my teeth pulled, and can you believe it no tooth Fairy LOL

I am leaving for 3 days sort of I am going to work in the AM and leaving for the safety training directly after work, I thought I had better pack a few things I will need and I had to laugh at myself I guess maybe it is my age or something but I sure do need a lot of stuff just for 3 days I think I am done now I should be able to manage..

My Granddaughter, Samantha is home from Disney World, we are were a nervous wreck about her going down for a school trip she is 15 I am sure she is capable and she did have a good time but still I worried the entire time..

It cooled down some today and is wanting to rain I am out of cut and split wood and was too lazy to prepare some so I will just stay bundled up, Mom went to a spaghetti dinner and brought me take out so Lunch is covered for work tomorrow.

My girls came to live with me when they were 3 and 5 years old so you can imagine the problems we encountered over the years but I was struck with a humorous memory this morning at 5:30 Am The first thing in the morning I do is grab a cup of coffee and put in an ice cube to cool it off so I can chug my first cup, Low and behold the ice cube tray was empty, not just one but three LOL it made me laugh because I always got cranky with them when they they emptied the ice cube tray and put the empty tray back in the fridge, and now I am doing it, I had to laugh I will share this with them the next time we are together..

Beautiful day today in the lower 70s I worked but I still enjoyed it and am looking forward to a nice long and warm summer on my bike..

I guess all I have read about weight gain when stopping smoking is correct I lost a lot of weight after I had my teeth pulled and got my dentures mainly because I had to learn how to eat all over again and wait for my gums to heal so that must be done because I am eating normal again I was down to 174 and felt good as I was 210 so now since I gave up the evil cigarettes i have gained 8 pounds but not really eating all that much more I guess it has something to do with metabolism or something but anyhow I hope I don’t gain back up to 210 I will have to seriously watch my weight….

Today at work we had out cookout for 500 accident free days we had burgers and hot dogs and cheesy potatoes and corn off the cob and a big cake it was all really good I am on the safety team so somehow I got stuck flipping burgers but I did not mind at least that way i got to talk to everybody and I did not get any complaints, I had one cheese burger and a Hot Dog and some potatoes it was a good time…….

It is about time we got some better weather today it was 60 something i liked that even though I worked inside it was still nice to open the doors and have a breeze going through the shop. tomorrow and the weekend is looking like 70s that is bike weather I have her on the battery charger right now. Mom is doing much better she still misses Aunt Gerry but it is all getting better I guess time will do that..

Today is day 31 what a struggle I have stepped down to the 14 mg patch and I really notice a difference, I guy came in to work on second shift and laid his cigarettes right in front of me, no intentional I don’t think he even knows I quit, but as much as I wanted to take one I did not.

I work next Monday to make up for having last Saturday off and then I found out I am going for DuPont safety training Tuesday and Wednesday, it is just down in Pittsburgh at the Airport Marriott, the funny thing is they actually reserved me a room there for Monday and Tuesday night I live about an hour away from the Marriott but if they are paying then far be it from be to pass on it, so we are going down after work Monday, I am riding down with a co worker who is also going, i guess it is better as classes begin at 7:30 AM and with rush hour traffic it is best i will be there is just seems funny staying at a motel so close to my home..

I ended up getting Saturday off for the funeral my friend at work traded days with me so I have to work Monday the 20th for him it helped as I did not need to use one of my last 2 personal days, the funeral was very nice as nice as a funeral can be we all went and had a nice dinner after I have seen family members I have not seen for a long long time and may never see again so we all spent a lot of time catching up, after we came home I went to Mom’s and cut the ham and helped her make the deviled eggs but that was all she was tired so we said the heck with the rest it cal all be finished up in the morning so she just wanted to take an Advil and lay down she had a pretty stressful day but held up well

I worked today Easter Sunday the railroad does not shut down for Holidays freight still needs moved everyday I did not mind too much I am thankful for such a good job I finished up about 3:15 so left and came home both girls were still at Mom’s waiting for me they both bought me beautiful flowers as they always do they are so thoughtful and good to me, we ate so much food I am stuffed and brought home so many leftovers, Now I just am ready for bed…

Today is day 27 without the evil cigarettes WOW I am making it

Tomorrow I have a dentist appointment to be fitted for my permanent dentures I can’t believe it has been 6 months since I had my teeth pulled now that is has all healed up I am really glad I had it done I feel a lot better….
