I have one more Sunday to work then I should have Sundays off but I just realized they have not posted my job for bid nor have they posted that i won the bud, Huh that makes me wonder, but just between me and my diary I don’t mind working weekends Mondays and Tuesdays are pretty nice days to have off I am going to ask on Wednesday what is going on. Mom’s birthday is tomorrow I already got her a battery powered weed eater she loves it that is exactly what she wanted, plus tomorrow I will take her out to eat ,Well maybe because tomorrow is my dentist appointment I may not feel like eating after that I guess I will see tomorrow..

I drove my old truck to work today I have the roll that Mom’s awning came in it was huge and I cut it up into little pieces with my new battery powered circular saw and since they have a big dumpster at work I figured that was the best way to get rid of it.

Work was good today pretty slow it is good that we can sort of take it easy but not so good as the slow down has me concerned, also they built a new office / breakroom and they finally got the cameras up and running so since they added an extra camera, they say the cameras are for catching people stealing stuff from out of the rail cars sitting there, mostly scrap, However I have seen them used against employees who do bad things so I try to at least appear to be real busy during my shift.

I have not been feeling like myself all this week could not figure it out can’t explain it just feel off so to speak then today i think I figured it out I have been off the patch for a couple weeks and i think it is my nicotine addiction and my body wants it but since I have been off the patch there is none so that has to be it, I think I am over the habit of smoking but I still need the nicotine, no take that back I don’t need it my body just thinks I do, but I think I can fight it off I am just real bitchy with everybody especially at work, Oh Not Mom though as she made me lasagna tonight for my lunch for the last couple days it is delish…..

I got my shift but I am still going to be working this Sunday and next Sunday till my co worker gets back from vacation then I will be having my Sundays off i am so looking forward to that especially for when Football season starts which is right around the corner  

Speaking of work things are still slow but nobody has been laid off yet there is still enough work to keep us all busy and since they are setting up machinists and bidding out jobs then I am thinking things might just be OK. toes and fingers crossed.

This is the tomato plant that Crista bought me for mothers day I did not put it in the ground as Bertha eats the little green tomatoes as soon as I get some so I just put it in a bigger pot and am keeping it on the picnic table so maybe I might get some nice red tomatoes this year..

I knew when I finally got up this morning that I needed to go to the dollar store so after I got myself together I went and just picked up a few things I knew I needed so after getting home and doing dome odds and ends I was going to put my lunch together for work tomorrow and decided to go ahead and do up my dishes , that is when I remembered why I needed to go to the dollar store, Yes I was out of dish soap, LOL I had just enough left to squeeze out of the bottle but I am still out of dish soap I guess I need to begin to write things down….

Tomorrow I should be awarded my new shift although I have a feeling I will be working Sunday again to cover Larry while he is on vacation but that is fine. I was going to go to the movies today I want to see the new Star Trek movie and also Terminator but it is getting late now maybe tomorrow..

Right now I am going to watch some TV and maybe get to bed early for work tomorrow..

I finally got my grass mowed I did it yesterday and also got my trimming done which is a good thing as today we are finally getting the rain i think we need badly so now it can grow all over again. Also yesterday i worked on finally cleaning out my old truck and getting the carpet cleaned it really needed it, and now on to making all the repairs that I need to get done before inspection time which will be sometime in August..

Sunday there was 5 hungry noisy baby birds in the nest on my porch, but Monday morning it was quiet so i checked and only one was left the other 4 apparently left during the night I wondered why only one was left I guess it was maybe the weaker one Mom kept feeding it all day then early evening it jumped out but could not fly I thought maybe it was not ready and I should put it back in the nest then I saw Mom feeding it on the porch where it landed, so I did a little research on line and found out after they leave the nest the male and female continue feeding them and teaching them how to survive so decided to forget bout it and let nature take it’s course and this morning so sign of it so now I can take down the nests.

Next Monday is Mom’s birthday and I saw advertised on TV a battery powered weed eater and thought that would be the perfect gift for her as she loves to take care of her place and keeps it really nice. So yesterday she mentioned she saw it advertised on TV and said she wants to get one and wanted me to take her up to Lowes and get one, I said OK maybe later this week, then I went over and told her I had planned on buying it for her for her birthday so we went to Lowes and I got it for her, and then stopped and bought her dinner at Red Lobster I love sea food, and after that I brought it home, put it together and charged and batteries it works great and she loves it so that all worked out..

Well at least it is my weekend today went pretty good not a lot of work going on over the holiday so I only had to worry about getting a couple trains ready and the day went by fast I am thinking even though I will get my new shift starting Wednesday I might still be working next Sunday as the new weekend guy will be on vacation I will have to wait and make a decision on that..

I did not mow last night as much as I needed to boy did I work hard to talk myself out of that job but guess what ?? my grass still needs cut so now looking back I wish I had cut it, but as they say tomorrow is another day.

That is about all for now was going to watch the race but i see it is still raining at the track maybe maybe not will have to keep checking hope they do get to run tonight

Today i was training my replacement for my weekend shift I am bidding off he is not real thrilled with working Saturday and Sunday but that is life and that is the shift he has I worked it for a year not near as long as some have had to but I did my time I feel a little bit bad but not bad enough to keep working weekends, He is planning on breaking up one of his weeks vacation and taking all his personal days on Sundays company won’t like that but not much they can do , I hope the money is there for overtime but probably not they will just have to get by I guess….

I had a note on my door when I got home Mom made me ham loaf and scallop potatoes I had a little bit of it when I got home it was Delicious so I went ahead and got my lunch ready for tomorrow which by the way should be my last Sunday ….

Weather beautiful out today I might mow I suppose I should as they are calling for rain so I had better get it done it is growing pretty good but not complaining soooo much better that snow and plowing..

Today when I showed up at work the machinist job that I want was posted and there already was a bid put in on it but I have the seniority so I will get it, the bidding will close next Tuesday night so Wednesday I will be awarded the position and then no more working Sundays for me which will be great I never did like working Sundays but had no choice except for going to afternoon shift and i sure did not want to do that so Sunday and Mondays off for me, the helper who has the job right now is not very happy as he will be stuck with my old shift working the weekend with Mondays and Tuesday off but sorry for his luck seniority rules..

The baby birds have hatched I try to stay away as much as I can as now Mom bird gets pretty upset when I am near she was really pissed at me for taking this picture.

It is 80 degrees out today just beautiful I took my big plants outside so now I will be getting my bedroom back they did not grow all that much during the winter but they sure do grow like crazy during summer outside I already got my lunch made for tomorrow so I am going to go outside and enjoy this beautiful weather and clean and wax my bike.

This morning i lit the wood burner up last night I know it was going to be chilly this morning and sure enough the furnace was running I keep it set all the time at 64 degrees so I had a small amount of wood ready, after I was awake enough I went to Giant Eagle and buy some supplies for the rest of the week for my lunch I really need to slow down on the eating as my weight is creaping back up but I don’t mind it is better than smoking, and i am sure here soon I can work on getting back down. So after that I called Mom to see if she wanted to go to Walmart to pick up a gift she had delivered there for my nephews son’s first birthday, so while there she also just had to buy me 2 new shirts, did not need them but it makes her happy, and an apple pie, a roasted chicken, and a package of onion burgers, Oh and some sinfull lady locks, sigh, no wonder I am gaining weight LOL I love to eat, Oh did i mention we also went to Chili’s for lunch/dinner I had shrimp alfredo but brought most of it home and will eat later, LOL did I mention I was gaining weight ??

OK dentist went OK they had a set made with what I think was wax made from the impressions of my temps and they seem to fit OK and that is all i had to do was try them the dentist was actually there i guess because they screwed up my last ones he said they are much better so I go back June 1st for my hopefully will be my permanent set and last trip there but I have a feeling it is far from over.
                       

I am going to do some much needed mowing today my front yard is Ok it usually does now grow mush as you can see i have hugh trees and lots of shade so I usually do not have grass on my front yatd but the back and Mom’s grows like crazy and since It is nice out might as well get it done.
                         

Bertha is stone deaf can’t hear a thing poor old girl but check out the ears LOL she was acting like a good faithfull guard dog and listening for  something, I think it was just a show she is so funny sometimes, Ok going to gather her up and jump on the tractor and get to work.

On Saturday I got a call from a co worker on the company cell telling to to have Larry, my co worker on Saturdays to call Jackie, His Wife, as she was trying to get ahold of him so he called her I was worried as I thought something happened to one of his kids, so he came back over to the shop and said his dog died well I was relieved that it was not one of his kids I said Oh bummer, he said no you don’t understand I have to go home, I said come on seriously ?? this is when I had to start to feel bad they have a little dog don’t know what kind just a little ankle bitter anyhow Jackie was leaving the house with the kids and she did not see the dog get out of the house and when she closed the car door the dogs head was in it I said Oh I see go ahead and take care of Jackie as I am sure she was really upset and she was I guess I was a little insensitive till I knew what happened I just called him and it is all OK but she still does feel bad about killing her little dog..

A shift that I want is coming up for bid soon, there is a helper on it right now and now he has his lessons done now so  he will become a machinist and his job will have to be put up for bid, Tuesday through Saturday with Sunday and Monday as rest days better than what i have right now which is Wednesday through Sunday with Monday and Tuesday as rest days, I have the seniority to take it so I am looking forward to having at least Sundays off, but again I am thank full to have a good job as the way things are going in the economy these days, it is just a nice bonus that i am getting a better shift.

It was nice and cool out today in the mid 50s so it was a good day for working outside the day went fast and we got a lot done I am happy with my day, it is cooling off some and they are calling for frost warnings tonight so maybe I had better bring in my plants..
