Today we had another safety cook out, this time only burgers, hot dogs, potato salad, and pasta salad it all went good the, Eric the oldest member of the committee and the more or less leader was on vacation so he dumped all the work of the picnic on me, so much work I need to remember this and help him more on safety lunches, I had to go get 75 hamburger Patty’s, and buns, then 50 hot dogs and buns, pick up the potato salad and pasta 10 lbs of each I think, then plates, plastic ware, soda, potato chips, condiments, tomatoes, onions, and lettuce, 60 Klondikes watermelon, charcoal and lighter. then I had to put it all together drag out the grill and light up the charcoal after the coals were nice and hot then more people came to help with the good stuff it all went good but sure as hell after it was all over I found myself alone, but then another member, Paul came and helped me clean up but on the bright side we all got a tshirt, oh and I did get compliments from all except for the 2 guys who hate me but you will have them guys anywhere all in all it was a good day a lot of work bit it all worked out good..

Right now I am ready to turn on the AC it is storming outside and of course my internet is out I am using my internet access through my Blackberry it works well. it is so humid right now the ceiling fans are not helping so I am going to click on the AC I just have a window unit in my kitchen but it works pretty well for my small house. was planning on the new furnace and central air but just had to buy that new truck there went my furnace money but maybe as soon as overtime starts again maybe I can get it then.

All the wood I split is stacked it ended up being exactly 1/2 cord so I figure I still have another 1/2 cord out there to split and stack before I begin to buy the rest of my winter supply. Going to get at my stack of dishes..

So this morning I had every intention on getting the wood stacked that I had split yesterday however ouch my back told me No No not today damn it hurts so I decided to be a baby about it and I just cleaned the porch to get ready to stack, then had to go to the bank and help Mom with some decisions on moving some of her money then grocery shopping and that was all mom went and made me a big batch of spaghetti (I know I am a bit spoiled since she moved in next door to me)  other than that I just packed my lunch for morning and am going to take a long hot shower here in a bit and get ready for bed, work in the morning…..

I had every intention of taking the day off and enjoying my first day off but while I was having my morning coffee outside on the porch I decided maybe I might split some wood, my neighbor gave me 2 trees that she had cut down one is pine, I can’t burn that one inside but the other I believe is oak and that is Ok so I pulled out the splitter and started I got maybe about half done and it got pretty hot out so I decided that was enough I have plenty of time to be getting that done.

                        

I mowed today  I figured I could get that out of the way as I was busy all day anyhow so I got that job out of the way, I needed gas so i took my old truck down to the gas station as the bed is open on that one so with that done I went back to do some splitting and now am done for the day I like the smell of freshly split wood I got a good bit from that tree but I know I will still be buying more I won’t worry about that till after vacation that will be toward the end of September. Below is what I have left to split..

After i watched some local news and did 1 load of laundry I decided that since I just bought that new battery for the quad maybe I should use it, I have about 2 acres of woods that is really grown up  I have not been up there for a long time so that is where I took the quad it was pretty cool once i got in there it is so grown up that I could not even see my house so I just had a blast for about an hour making some paths and just enjoying being tucked away from the world, or so it seemed from inside, I had a good time and the quad ran really good. I am going to have to spend more time there then after I explore all that is mine I am going to venture farther into the woods there is about 10 more acres connected to mine that belongs to the local park and it is also really grown up and not developed so I am thinking if I don’t cause any damage and don’t make too much noise I can have some more private riding in there, I will get some pictures tomorrow that is if the rain holds off…

I Did not………….However I had every intention of getting all the trees trimmed from around the power lines, they are sort of low hanging and I have been noticing that the tree limbs are growing all through and around them, so I had the bright idea to get up there and trim all the branches from around them, so I got out my Loopers and my 6 foot Aluminum ladder, I could reach them with that but the ladder had to set on an incline and before I did that stupid thing I remembered a safety video i saw somewhere where some idiot got up on an aluminum ladder around power lines hit one and was electrocuted and died, I put the ladder and loopers away and decided to rethink the project like call the electric company and let them do it…

I went to Battery Warehouse and got a new battery for my Quad it needed charged for 14 hours on 2 Amps so that is being done right now, I also asked Mom if she wanted to go along and stop and have lunch and she said of course so we took a trip through Butler traffic is horrable up there due to some bridge constriction but we got the battery and then i took her to Red lobster it was delishous and not bad price $35.00 for 2 I thought that was reasonable..

Work tomorrow so am going to figure out my lunch and watch the news, Oh i finighed my third and final book in this trilogy it was good but that leaves me in search for new reading material..

This is the first 3 day weekend i have had for quite a while, I have not done much today, Well I guess I need to take that back I first decided to clean the bathroom that little job took a while I even scrubbed the floor it looks all nice and shiny and clean now so that really needed done, next I washed my dishes there was not all that many of them to do, so I figured while I was on a roll I would clean my garage and do a little organizing So as soon as i got out there my Bike says Dude, lets go for a ride LOL who am I to argue, so off we went, but I did get back in the swing of things when I got back I had dinner then ran the vacuum in the living room and now I am done for the day…

I am done with Blood Brothers, and just Finished The Hollow and am about to begin The Pagan Stone so far they have been really good reading I am anxious to begin the third and final book, I may begin it tonight as I am working tomorrow but don’t start till 9:00 so I am thinking I might stay up a little later and start to read some as not much is on TV tonight except for reruns…

Yesterday at work we had an employee come back after 3 months off for knee surgery so I had to spend the day with him catching him up on the safety meetings and the required safety videos and today was the first Thursday of the Month and that is the day we have our safety committee meetings so again I was out of the shop that that is good things are slow and it was nice getting a break from the shop, plus we had time to put up signs on all the doors of the new buildings i wish I had taken my digital camera to work with me as they look really good..

I got to thinking about this new phone in, 1996 I bought my first computer it cost me over $3000.00 LOL and was attached to a phone line and a really slow modem to access AOL Now I have this little phone that has all the internet I need and is wireless LOL I want to live forever just to see what is coming next you have got to love technology……
